8. Junior Prom
I really feel like this should be on the list, because really, without it Junior Year would have been totally different. To be honest, Junior year would have been half as dramatic, but not as exciting. There was a constant thrill in the air, who asked who, how to ask, when to ask, where to ask, whether you’re going to ask or not, or whether you’re going to say yes if someone asked you.
I ended up going with someone with whom I could count on my fingers the number of times we’d ever conversed in person. When asked why I agreed to this, I simply answered because I had a dice with me when he asked me, and even if he didn’t get 1 out of the 3 tries, he looked so adorable when he was rolling that I had to nudge the dice a little to make his guess right.
It was probably one of those gambles that I’d probably never regret. I had a really good night that night, and there’s nothing like a partially blind (because he’s Chinese) first date, where you really get to meet someone for the first time. To whoever will date Jeorge Chua for Senior Prom, he’s a really awesome date that you will be lucky to have.
