9. College Entrance Exams
Probably the one stressing thing about being a senior is realizing you’re a few years closer to graduating from college and not having any more summer breaks for the rest of your life. Yes, no more summer breaks. UPCAT, ACET, USTET, DLSUCET, SATs or whatever it is you took, kind of rattles you from the inside out. On the days I realize that I may not pass every exam I attempted to take, or that even if I pass I might not get into the school that I’d like, I get a little scared. But I have come into terms that when a school rejects you, you have to take it as a good sign that you weren’t meant to be there anyway. Sometimes, you have to swallow you pride and understand that rejections are the schools ways of telling you that you’re not the type of student they’re looking for. When you look at this from another perspective, it may also be that they’re not the University best suited for your skills as an individual as well. Our success isn’t measured by the school we graduate from, but the kind of education we take away and how we apply it. When I realized this, my fear of being rejected to the colleges I’ve applied for disappeared. My life won’t end if I don’t get into UP. It won’t even end if I don’t graduate. So I’ll try my best anyway, and hope that it turns out the way things are supposed to.
